Action Game Maker, the new game making software by Enterbrain just released its trial version. In this version there are a lot of limits which will be unlocked in the upcoming full version. However, this software is still in Japanese. If you are interesting to try, here is the requirement:

OS: Microsoft Windows XP / Vista with DirectX9.0c support (64-bit versions not guaranteed to work properly)
CPU: Pentium 4 2.4GHz equivalent or higher (Intel Core 2 Duo equivalent recommended)
Memory: 512MB or more (2GB recommended)
Hard Disk Space: 200MB or more (for the trial)
Video Card: 1024x768 resolution or higher
Sound Card: Must be capable of 16-bit stereo and can play 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz WAVs
Internet Connection: Required for startup

I just want to give you a head up that people said this version is not working with Windows Vista-64 bit. I tried it and it's pretty confusing since I can't read Japanese well.

I suggest you to register and download from actiongamemaker.com, because the Enterbrain's server is really really slow. Though, downloading in Asia is faster than in Europe. But I will still suggest you to download from actiongamemaker.com. It's definitely faster when using download software like Flashget.

I wish it was in English! Hopefully Enterbrain will see some prospects in the non-Japanese market.

I can't say I like AGM, because coming from Game maker I'm used to scripting, and I'm even fine with using RPG Maker because it also has scripting.

I see it also has plugin support, but because rmxp/vx has scripting I see no reason for agm at all, maybe there will be a scripting system and it'll have rgss/3(probably for the next rpg maker)

Personally all the demos were really let downs, the action rpg engine is very much crap and is nothing like the zelda/seiken desetsu engines(The awesome a-rpgs) For anyone that wanted scripting wait till the full version is out"that is if it has scripting" or use game maker or rpg maker xp/vx.

This was a very bad engine from enterbrain.. everything could be done in rpg maker vx that agm did from the start. Should have just released a VX Mapping rewrite patch instead of this crap.
